Maybe you are a local elected official, city planner, community leader, a local decision-maker or someone working with local decision-makers. You’ve come here because you are interested in learning more about how your community can become more resilient in the wake of severe storm events such as sea-level rise and precipitation changes.![]()
You've come to the right place.
The Gulf Resilience Community of Practice brings together extension, outreach and education professionals and community officials in the Gulf to learn how coastal communities can adapt to sea-level rise, precipitation changes and other related issues. Extension, outreach and education professionals and local decision-makers work together so that they can be better equipped with reliable information and science-based guidance regarding the level of risk to their communities and strategies they can use to adapt.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Gulf Regional Collaboration Team and the four Gulf Sea Grant Programs worked together to form the Resilience Community of Practice.
The Resilience Community of Practice is a group of professionals who aim to incorporate adaptation strategies into Gulf Coast communities’ comprehensive plans. By working together we can learn from each other and develop a set of effective common approaches that will make a difference in becoming a more resilient community.
