Tina Miller-Way serves as the assistant director for education for the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium (MASGC) and is a former chair of the national Sea Grant Education Network.
She has been with MASGC’s education team since 2008, and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL) Discovery Hall Programs, where she is the chair, has been a partner of MASGC for decades. She completed a post-doctoral research position at DISL after receiving her Ph.D. in coastal studies from Louisiana State University and a master of science degree in oceanography from Oregon State University. Tina returned to the Sea Lab full-time after teaching in higher education and in the Sea Lab's undergraduate program for many years.
Tina specializes in education and outreach and estuarine benthic processes.
MASGC’s education team seeks to increase environmental literacy by bringing credible information and current research to students, teachers and the public using best practices in education. As such, her efforts address all MASGC focus areas but are focused in environmental literacy and workforce development.
