Ali Rellinger is a Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant-supported coastal resilience specialist. Her work focuses on resilience to flooding in both the natural and built environments. She leads a variety of resilience-related education projects including developing lesson plans for local educators, conducting various types of engagement to enhance community resilience, providing workshops and training events to help a wide range of participants increase capacity for resilience as well as other technical support in resilience. She is also is an extension instructor at Mississippi State University Coastal Research and Extension Center.

Ali has bachelor's degree in biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a master's degree and a Ph.D. in marine sciences from the University of South Alabama, where she pursued her graduate studies at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Before coming to Sea Grant, she taught biology, environmental science and oceanography at the Alabama School of Math and Science. She also has experience working in municipal government and small nonprofits, giving her a broad background to leverage for coastal resilience work.
