Objectives

  • Perform seven (7) half-day “Train the Trainer” workshops across the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Increase knowledge of the Gulf TREE web resource.
  • Increase use of the Gulf TREE web resource.
  • Provide necessary resources and information for “trainers” to encourage use of Gulf TREE throughout their geography.

Methodology

This award will allow for seven (7) half-day “Train the Trainer” workshops across the Gulf of Mexico. Anticipated target areas, based on preliminary conversations with partners, are two workshops in Texas (Corpus Christi and Houston/Galveston), one each in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama (Baton Rouge, Ocean Springs, and Spanish Fort), and two in Florida (Tallahassee and Tampa). With this method, we will maintain a broad geographic spectrum and reduce travel needs of potential attendees, thereby increasing participation likelihood. Partner resources, such as venue locations and workshop materials, will be utilized as available and necessary. Local partners for each workshop location will also assist in workshop advertisement and increased stakeholder participation.

Each of the seven (7) half-day workshops will provide an introduction to (or reminder of) Gulf TREE. It will include demonstrations of the site’s front end as well as its administrative side, showing participants how users would progress through the web resource and further understand the Content Management System (CMS). It will also cover the more complicated situations that users may face. Each workshop will provide lunch to all participants and encourage them to fill out an evaluation so that the workshops may adjust as needed to better-suit participant needs.
