Summary

Participants in this course will leave with a sound understanding of how land use planning interacts with the Community Rating System. There will be a discussion of how local development review can best compliment the NFIP compliance process and the accrual of CRS points. Course will also touch upon various open space incentives (CRS Activity 420) that involve the application of land use planning principles and regulations (TDRs, low density zoning, etc.). Location: South Alabama Regional Planning Commission, Mobile, Alabama.
