Join us Wednesday for a seminar about dispersants. A free event, "Understanding the toxicity of oil and dispersant mixtures and the development of alternative dispersants" will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Room 117 in Mouton Hall. The event is open to the public and will cover published research regarding the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Click here for flyer
The effects of oil-dispersant mixtures on aquatic life and research into bacteria-based dispersants will be discussed. A brief history of dispersants and the impacts of oil and dispersants in near-shore environments will also be given. The seminar will include presentations, a question-and-answer period and an audience input session.
This seminar will be hosted by the Sierra Club-Acadian Group, and will take place from 6:30-8:30 pm at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Room 117 Mouton Hall. Mouton Hall is located on the east corner of East St. Mary Blvd and Johnston Street. Enter the parking lot from Johnston Street and enter north door of Mouton Hall. Please see the map to Mouton Hall.
