The Alabama Working Waterfront Coalition will present the Alabama Working Waterfront Exhibit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5, at Bayou La Batre's 64th Annual Blessing of the Fleet celebration. The exhibit will highlight the importance of water access to area businesses and to the quality of life on the Gulf Coast.

You will be able to learn how to serve seafood safely, get information on safe boating and enjoy cultural dances from the Southeast Asian Community of South Mobile County. Children will be able to make an aluminum boat, participate in the Ship's Log raffle game and more. The exhibit will take place on the lawn of St. Margaret's Catholic Church, 13790 South Wintzell Ave., in Bayou La Batre.

Booths will feature South Alabama Shipbuilders, Alabama Gulf Seafood, the Alabama State Port Authority, GulfQuest Maritime Museum and others. The exhibit is sponsored by the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium and Auburn University Marine Extension and Research Center. More information is available at http://www.fleetblessing.org.

The Alabama Working Waterfront Coalition has a membership of 75 organizations and water-dependent businesses. It works to highlight the economic value of water-dependent industries and the issues that threaten their sustainability.
