During a hurricane, oil spill or pandemic, Sea Grant is not a formally recognized first responder. However, as a service-based organization, we do immediately adapt our program to assist others during times of crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic is no different.

In mid-March our Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium's extension, outreach and education professionals reached out to the people we serve to identify their needs, which allowed us to adjust programming to provide immediate assistance. Here’s a sample of activities that have occurred during the past two months in response to the pandemic:
