TV program to focus on watersheds

Don’t miss the second television program in the series “Gambling Against Mother Nature,” which will air at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, on WKRG-TV (News Channel 5, Mobile, Ala.) The title of the second program is “Water Runs Downhill.” The 30-minute program will focus on coastal watersheds. The full three-part series will be available on DVD after the broadcast of all three programs. These television programs are made possible through a partnership of the NOAA Coastal Storms Program, Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium, WKRG-TV, The City of Orange Beach, The University of South Alabama Engineering Department and grassroots, inc.

Other programs in the series include “Wind and Water,” a program about hurricanes and storms and their impacts on the coast, which aired in July, and “Hedging Our Bets,” which focuses on storms and insurance and will air at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 26.
