Sea Grant seeks Coastal Storms Program outreach coordinator

The Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium is accepting applications for a Gulf of Mexico Coastal Storms Program outreach coordinator.

The CSP outreach coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a Coastal Storms Outreach Program over a three-year pilot period in Alabama, Mississippi and southeastern Louisiana.

The CSP outreach coordinator will develop outreach materials including a Web site that will serve as a clearinghouse of CSP information, print materials and tools. The outreach coordinator also will produce a Coastal Storms Resource Directory that will include an inventory of land-use models, risk and vulnerability tools, storm-related workshops, funding opportunities and partners.

Candidates must have a master’s degree in coastal planning, coastal policy, coastal engineering, adult education, marine or environmental science or a related field and have demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating extension or education programs. Fluency in Spanish or Vietnamese will be considered an asset.

The outreach coordinator may choose to work out of offices in Bay St. Louis, Miss., Ocean Springs, Miss., or Mobile, Ala.
