Researchers to unveil working waterfront study

After a year of study, representatives of Auburn University will unveil the results of a Mobile County inventory of working waterfront areas.

The presentation will take place at the Alabama Working Waterfront Coalition’s meeting at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Bayou La Batre Community Center.

Maps of the current status of working waterfront properties and the results of a economic/demographic survey of waterfront-related businesses will be included in the final report. The results will be used as a baseline study to preserve working waterfront properties in coastal Alabama.

The inventory project was funded by Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant.
