WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE WORKSHOPS?
The GMRP has identified research being conducted in the Gulf of Mexico through a synthesis of 117 strategic plans of research-oriented groups. In addition the project administered a survey, which collected responses from more than 1,500 individuals. The survey rated the Ocean Research Priorities Plans (ORPP) research priorities from a regional perspective and provided additional comments regarding priorities not captured in the ORPP.

In early 2008, the GMRP will be holding stakeholder workshops to refine the results of the regional research prioritization survey and identify the most pressing research topics.
