Mississippi-Alabama Bays and Bayous Symposium 2016
November 30, 2016 - December 1, 2016 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
We are pleased to host the 2016 Mississippi-Alabama Bays and Bayous Symposium at the Mississippi Coast Convention Center in Biloxi, Miss., on Wednesday, Nov. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 1. The theme for the symposium is "From Thoughts to Actions – Restoration on the Gulf Coast."
The coastal symposium focuses on (but is not limited to) coastal science research, education and outreach in the northern Gulf of Mexico. It is a great place for scientists from universities, NGOs and government to share their research findings. Coastal municipalities can also showcase their resilience and conservation efforts. Educators and extension professionals can share research and successful outreach efforts.
The two-day symposium includes several sessions of 20-minute oral presentations (with time for questions and answers), poster presentations, vendors, keynote speakers, lunches and a poster reception.
Session topics will include:
- Climate and hazard resilience
- Oil spill impacts
- Habitat management and restoration
- Living resources
- Water quality and quantity
