Extension Specialist (Land Use Planning)Bio
Stephen works with floodplain managers, building officials, city officials, scientists and Sea Grant partners to provide information and training related to flood and storm resilience. He holds a master's degree in city and regional planning from Clemson University and a bachelor's degree in history and urban studies from Furman University.
Before joining the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Legal Program in 2014, Stephen worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer for the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority. He also has experience with a number of diverse public groups including regional planning agencies, city governments and heritage tourism groups.
