Chris Snyder is part of education team at Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant. He is the director of the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory’s Marine Education Center (MEC), and he collaborates with the Mobile County Environmental Studies Center and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab to provide the education component for MASGC.

Over his career, he has developed and implemented conservation and resource protection regulations, conducted public information campaigns, produced media tools and participated in hands-on educational programs focused on Mississippi’s coastal habitats and the animals that call them home. He has worked as a benthic ecologist, a coastal wetlands ecologist, a public information director and a marine education and media specialist.

Chris has a master's degree in workforce training and development and a bachelor's of science in marine biology from USM.
